One of us has an eye for design. The other has an eye for everything else.

Turns out, you need both.

We're Ethan and David — a married team based right here in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and between the two of us, we've got exactly what this kind of work requires.

Ethan handles the camera. He's been producing media professionally since 2007, spent 14 years in corporate media production, and has the kind of technical eye that comes from doing this work seriously, for a long time. What he'll tell you himself is that he did not inherit the so-called gay gene for interior design — he can walk into a freshly cleaned room, see that everything's been put away and the counters are wiped down, and think it's ready to shoot. Technically, he's not wrong. But there's a big difference between a room that's clean and a room that's compelling.

That's where David comes in.

David has the eye. Give him a space and he'll see exactly what needs to move, what needs a little life breathed into it, and what needs to be front and center when the camera comes out. He's the reason your living room will look like the best version of itself — not just tidied up, but genuinely inviting. Together, they're a complete package: the technical and the aesthetic, working in the same room at the same time.

Why we do this work

Ethan has shot and created a lot of content over nearly two decades in media production. And one thing that's always stuck with him is how many nightly rentals don't get the attention they deserve — not because the property isn't special, but because the photos don't reflect the actual experience of being there.

A flat, lifeless photo of a made bed doesn't tell anyone what it feels like to wake up in that room. A dark exterior shot doesn't capture what the place looks like when the light hits it right. Guests are making real decisions with real money based on what they see in a listing — and if your photos aren't doing that property justice, you're leaving bookings on the table.

That's the gap Owl & Otter exists to close.

Why Eureka Springs

We're not just based here — we're part of this place. We know the light in the Ozarks, the way these hills and hollows change with the seasons, the particular character of Eureka Springs' architecture that makes this town unlike anywhere else. We're active in this community, we care about it, and we bring that genuine investment to every property we photograph here.

When you hire us, you're not getting someone who flew in and is shooting from a checklist. You're getting people who have walked these streets, know this town, and understand what makes a property feel like Eureka Springs — not just a rental.
